SteadySteps Placement Service Agreement

Last Updated: 11 February 2026

SteadySteps by Daria is a sole trader business operating in England and Wales.

This Placement Service Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms under which SteadySteps by Daria (“SteadySteps”, “we”, “us”) provides structured childcare placement services.

By proceeding with payment and/or submitting the structured intake form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.

This Agreement operates in conjunction with the SteadySteps Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict, this Agreement shall prevail in relation to the placement service.

1. Nature of the Service

SteadySteps provides a structured decision-making and childcare placement service designed to support families of neurodivergent children.

The service includes:

  • Structured family intake
  • Application of the SEN Fit Standard
  • SEN-focused filtering and vetting
  • Candidate introduction aligned with agreed criteria
  • Controlled trial placement
  • One replacement search where eligibility criteria are met (see Section 6)

SteadySteps acts as an introduction and structured decision-support service only.

SteadySteps is not the employer of any nanny introduced and does not enter into employment contracts on behalf of families.

2. Scope and Limitations

SteadySteps provides structured assessment, filtering, and introduction services.

SteadySteps does not guarantee:

  • Immediate placement
  • Availability of specific candidates
  • Long-term employment outcomes
  • Personality compatibility beyond agreed criteria
  • Behavioural or developmental outcomes

Final hiring decisions remain the sole responsibility of the family.

Suitability and stability take precedence over speed.

3. Timeframe

The matching process typically takes between 2–6 weeks, depending on:

  • Complexity of needs
  • Geographic location
  • Market availability
  • Accuracy and completeness of information provided

Timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Where applicable, the structured placement process may operate for up to eight (8) weeks from intake activation.

4. Fees

The placement fee is £800.

This fee covers the structured process described in Section 1.

Payment activates the intake and matching process.

Fees reflect professional time, structured vetting, decision responsibility, and application of the SEN Fit Standard.

5. Refund Policy

The £800 placement fee is non-refundable once the structured intake process has commenced.

If the family withdraws before intake begins, SteadySteps may, at its sole discretion, issue a partial refund minus administrative costs.

No refunds are provided once candidate introductions have commenced, except where required by law.

6. Replacement Policy

If a placement does not meet the pre-agreed SEN Fit Standard during the controlled trial period, SteadySteps will conduct one replacement search.

Replacement eligibility requires:

  • Full and honest disclosure during intake
  • Adherence to agreed criteria
  • Respect for the structured process
  • Professional conduct toward introduced candidates

Replacement must be requested within 30 calendar days of the placement start date.

The replacement provision applies to one additional search cycle only and does not extend beyond this.

7. Disclosure Requirement

Families must provide full, accurate, and honest information regarding:

  • Child needs and diagnoses
  • Behavioural patterns
  • Household routines and expectations
  • Previous placement challenges
  • Any safeguarding concerns

Failure to disclose relevant information may:

  • Compromise suitability
  • Void eligibility for replacement
  • Result in termination of the process without refund

This requirement exists to protect the child, the family, and the integrity of the service.

8. Professional Conduct

Families agree to engage respectfully and professionally with all candidates introduced.

SteadySteps reserves the right to suspend or terminate the process if:

  • Behaviour toward candidates is inappropriate
  • Communication is misleading or abusive
  • The structured process is intentionally disregarded

In such cases, no refund is guaranteed.

9. Non-Circumvention

Families agree not to directly or indirectly engage, employ, or contract with any candidate introduced by SteadySteps outside of the structured placement process without written consent from SteadySteps for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of introduction.

This provision protects the integrity of the placement framework.

10. Employment Responsibility

SteadySteps acts as an introduction service only.

Families are solely responsible for:

  • Conducting right-to-work checks
  • Verifying DBS status
  • Entering into employment contracts
  • Managing payroll, tax, pension, and employment compliance
  • Day-to-day supervision and management

SteadySteps does not assume responsibility for employment administration, employment disputes, or legal compliance between family and nanny.

11. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All personal, medical, behavioural, and household information shared during the placement process shall be handled in accordance with the SteadySteps Privacy Policy.

Both parties agree not to disclose confidential information obtained during the process except:

  • As necessary for employment arrangements
  • As required by law

12. Limitation of Liability

SteadySteps provides a vetting and structured introduction service only.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SteadySteps shall not be liable for:

  • Actions or conduct of placed nannies
  • Employment disputes
  • Financial arrangements between family and nanny
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses
  • Outcomes beyond the scope of the structured decision process

Nothing in this Agreement limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

13. Termination

SteadySteps reserves the right to terminate the process if:

  • False or misleading information is provided
  • The family acts outside agreed standards
  • The working relationship becomes non-viable
  • Safeguarding concerns arise

In such cases, no refund is guaranteed.

14. Force Majeure

SteadySteps shall not be liable for delay or failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, regulatory changes, or unforeseen events.

15. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties relating to the placement service and supersedes any prior discussions, representations, or understandings.

16. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
