1. Membership Overview

The SteadySteps Occasional Childcare Membership provides families with access to a network of vetted childcare providers for ad-hoc, evening, weekend, and holiday childcare.

SteadySteps coordinates introductions between families and available nannies.

SteadySteps acts solely as a matching and coordination service.

SteadySteps does not employ nannies and does not enter into employment relationships on behalf of families.

Families hire and pay nannies directly.

2. Membership Types Flex Access Membership £120 per year

Includes:

• Access to the SteadySteps vetted nanny network
• Matching and coordination services
• First booking coordination fee waived
• £25 coordination fee for each additional confirmed booking

Priority Membership £200 per year

Includes:

• Access to the SteadySteps vetted nanny network
• Matching and coordination services
• Unlimited booking requests
• No coordination fees
• Priority response for booking requests

Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of payment

3. Nature of the Service

Membership provides access to the SteadySteps nanny network and matching service.

Membership does not guarantee:

• nanny availability
• specific dates or times
• last-minute coverage

Childcare providers operate independently and manage their own schedules.

4. Booking Requests

Families may submit childcare requests through the designated communication channels provided by SteadySteps.

SteadySteps will attempt to introduce suitable available nannies based on:

• availability
• location
• suitability for the child’s needs

Final hiring decisions remain the responsibility of the family.

5. Additional Coordination Services

Members may request additional services including:

Preferred Nanny Request – £10
Express Booking (within 24 hours) – £15
Holiday / Multi-Day Planning – £30

These fees cover coordination time only.

6. Membership Duration

Membership begins on the date payment is received and remains valid for 12 months.

Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. First Booking Benefit (Flex Membership)

Flex Membership includes one waived coordination fee for the first confirmed booking.

This benefit:

• applies once per membership period
• has no cash value
• cannot be exchanged or refunded

8. Membership Upgrades

Families may upgrade from Flex Access Membership to Priority Membership at any time.

To upgrade, the family must pay:

• the difference between membership prices
• an administration fee of £20

Upgrading activates Priority benefits immediately but does not extend the membership period.

Downgrades are not available during the membership period and may only occur at renewal.

9. Cancellation and Refunds

Membership fees are non-refundable once the service has been used.

Use of the service includes:

• submitting a booking request
• receiving nanny introductions
• confirmation of a booking

Once a booking request has been processed, the membership is considered active and refunds are not available.

10. Consumer Cooling-Off Rights

If the membership is purchased online, consumers may have a 14-day statutory cooling-off period.

If a family requests that SteadySteps begins providing services during this period (including booking coordination or introductions), they acknowledge that their right to cancel may be reduced or lost once the service has begun.

11. Regular Booking Limit

Membership is intended for occasional childcare needs only.

If a family begins to book a nanny with a consistent, recurring schedule (for example, the same days each week or term-time pattern), SteadySteps may consider the arrangement to be a regular nannying role. In such cases:

• The family will be advised that this type of ongoing care is outside the scope of the Membership.
• The family may be offered the option to transition to the SteadySteps Placement Service, which is designed for full-time, part-time, or term-time nanny placements.

This ensures that membership remains aligned with occasional care and protects the sustainability of the service for both nannies and families.

12. Conduct and Accuracy of Information

Families agree to provide accurate information about:

• the location of childcare
• number of children
• duties required
• relevant medical or developmental information

Families must treat childcare providers respectfully and professionally.

13. Changes to Membership

SteadySteps reserves the right to update membership terms where necessary.

Members will be informed of any significant changes before renewal.

14. Introductions and Non-Circumvention,

All childcare providers are introduced exclusively through SteadySteps. Families agree not to directly or indirectly engage, contact, or arrange childcare with any nanny introduced by SteadySteps outside of the agreed process without prior written consent.

All booking requests must be made through SteadySteps’ designated communication channels.

This restriction applies for a period of 12 months from the date of introduction.

Any such action may be considered a breach of these Terms and may result in termination of membership. Where a breach occurs, SteadySteps reserves the right to apply relevant fees, including a placement or introduction fee equivalent to its standard service fee, and/or pursue any remedies available under law.
