Working with Neurodivergent and SEND Children Requires More Than Experience
Currently operating within London.
Supporting them requires responsibility, consistency, and emotional awareness. Strong experience matters, but the ability to work with patience, structure, and self-awareness is equally important.
SteadySteps works with a carefully selected number of nannies who meet clear standards in supporting neurodivergent children.
This is not a job board or open marketplace, and submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or placement. Standards are defined clearly and applied consistently throughout the process.
You will not be directly employed by SteadySteps.

Introductions depend on your and family fit, availability, and alignment with agreed standards.
Working with neurodivergent children can be demanding and emotionally complex.
At SteadySteps, high standards are matched with appropriate support. Nannies are not expected to manage complex situations without guidance.
Where appropriate, support may include:
Structured check-ins
Guidance around routines and boundaries
Space for professional reflection on challenges
Nannies working within the SteadySteps will receive access to:
✓ Highly discounted 1-year access to the Flick Learning training platform
✓ Guidance and discounted offers for valuable specialist training, including Paediatric First Aid and courses provided by collaborating professionals (such as sleep consultancy where relevant)
✓ Ongoing structured mental health check-ins
SteadySteps intends to introduce education and guidance aligned with the standards used in placements. These resources will be developed carefully and introduced only once they reflect the same level of quality and structure expected within this work.
